Fake lawyer arrested in Enugu

One Festus Ozonwaji, a purported fake legal practitioner, has been arrested by the Enugu State Police Command for claiming to be a lawyer in court.

Spokeman of the command, Ebere Amaraizu in a statement, revealed that operatives recovered a seal believed to be that of the Nigerian Bar Association and other legal documents from the suspect.

Amaraizu said the suspect was arrested on October 11 by the legal department of the command through intelligence information.

“He was arrested having allegedly presented himself as a legal practitioner at a court in the Ezeagu Local Government Area.

“However, the suspect later denied being a legal practitioner upon interrogation, saying he just graduated from the Law Faculty of the National Open University of Nigeria and has been acting as a legal practitioner’’, Amaraizu said.
