Fake medical doctor arrested in Ekiti

A fake meeical doctor has been arrested by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCN, Ekiti State.

The MDCN also shut the Divine Citadel Health Centre the fake doctor was operating.

This was disclosed by the Council in Ado Ekiti in a statement by the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Dr Sunday Omoya, adding that the fake doctor would be handed over to the police for prosecution.

Omoya said the fake doctor, who was operating  his ‘clinic’ in  Ajilosun area of  the capital city  was arrested after  his certificates were found to have been forged.

“The NMA in partnership with MDCN set up a monitoring team to tackle quackery in medical practice. The man in question was reported to the police and was arrested after a screening conducted by the local government where he had worked for eleven years revealed that he was parading fake certificates. We reported to the Commissioner of Police and the man will soon face prosecution in court,” he said.
