Fake prophet swindles woman of N70m, three houses to cure fibroid

The long arm of the law has caught up with a fake prophet simply identified as Pastor Femi after he was nabbed by the Special Fraud Unit, Milverton, Ikoyi, Lagos, for allegedly collecting about N70 million from a businesswoman to treat fibroid.

Reports say the woman in question had been suffering from the ailment which has defied medical treatment for the past 14-years until she was introduced to Pastor Femi who took advantage of her desperation to get cure to swindle her.

The arrest of pastor Femi was effected after a complaint lodged by the victim’s husband, who alleged that Femi intended to eliminate him and take over his property.

Recounting the suspect’s mode of operation, Commissioner of Police in-charge of SFU, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, said: “The prophet initially charged the woman N98k and he gave her some herbs, which stopped the bleeding for a while.

“When the bleeding started again in 2014, she went back to the prophet, who brought in a new twist to the matter. He hypnotised her and convinced her that her husband was responsible for her problems.

“He convinced her that her husband was also after her children’s lives, accusing him of being a cultist and that the bleeding was the source of his money. The woman was asked to bring money for sacrifices and rituals,” Lamorde said.

Continuing, he added that; “She also built him a 5 bedroom duplex at Ojokoro area of Lagos and another in Ado-Ekiti, upon his request. The prophet also warned her to stop sleeping with her husband and instructed her and her children to give him 70 per cent of the money the man gave them monthly.

Reports say the pastor also convinced his victim to purchase a Toyota Highlander, 2014 model, and a Lexus GX470, 2013 model, for him which she did and upon his arrest, over N70m was found in one of his accounts paid by the victim.

The suspect according to Lamorde confessed to the crime but claimed the houses and the two vehicles were gifts the woman gave him and he also denied using charms on her and her children.

Lamorde noted that the prophet had been granted administrative bail and would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

“We urge members of the public to be wary of people who devise various means of defrauding them of their hard-earned money. Be careful about the kind of people you seek help from,” he added.

The end time is here already, 70 million naira to cure fibroid, the woman herself must be very foolish, the pastor is not a doctor or a medical practitioner.

There should be no two judgement to it, the man should be sentenced to life imprisonment or death by hanging for being so wicked.

Your pastors are too greedy, how many times have you heard of an Imam or Ustaz swindling people? Islam remains the truthful religion.

balarabe musa I agree wit u ‘their pastors re greedy & they’ve never heard of any imam or ustaz swindling people’, probably bcos they’ve never been 2 the north or muslem populated area. I hv heard & I hv seen worst situations in d north bcos I ws born, brought up & lived there. But u will not see or hear abt it in any media why bcos the Nigeria media system re scared & afraid of wat ur fanatic & sheepishly follower muslem brodas will do.
        Examples: whn muhammed ws cartooned in Denmark, ur muslem brodas started killin Christians in d north;
-a corp member in a northern state set an exam & wrote muhammed (his own student) is a stubborn boy, dat lead 2 a fight & killin of corp members there.
This is jst to mention a few.
So wit dis kind of mentality some cowards re afraid 2 talk.
And tell me hw can u people say islam is a religion of ‘Peace’ whn ur logo is a palm tree wit 2 swords by d sides. Hw does sword signify Peace? I want 2 kno hajia insha allah.

I can’t laugh. So he stopped the woman from sleeping with her husband too, he wants to do kerewa with the woman and am sure he has slept with her several times but the woman might not want to say such obnoxious thing.
