Lagos lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, has said he has been denied access to detained journalist, Ahmad Salkida.

Salkida, who was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, was declared wanted by the Nigerian Army for allegedly having links with the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

Salkida was declared wanted alongside two others, Ahmad Bolori and Aisha Wakil, after the sect release another video showing some of the abducted students of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

Though it is not yet clear which of the arms of the security agencies is holding the journalist, it is believed that he is being held by the Department of State Services, DSS.

According to Falana, he had been briefed as Mr. Salkida’s counsel but was “still trying to have access to him”.

He also disclosed that his chamber had dispatched another lawyer in Abuja to see if he could have access to Mr. Salkida, and to know how to proceed from there.
