'Family complications' killed my mother, not fire outbreak, Jimoh Ibrahim's brother claims

Mr. Dipo Jimoh, the last child of Mrs. Theresa Jimoh, the mother of business mogul, Jimoh Ibrahim, has refuted claims that his late mom died in an early morning Lagos fire.

According to Dipo, the Chairman of Barama Energy Resources, in a statement, his mother died of “family complications”.

The statement entitled: Counter News, reads thus in full: “In Respect of Mrs. Theresa Omofemiwa Jimoh’s death, Dipo Jimoh (last child and the closest son of the late Mrs. Theresa Jimoh), who is the MD/CEO of Barama Energy Resources debunks reports that the deceased died as a result of candle fire.

“I also debunk reports that her remains were deposited in the morgue by Lagos State Emergency Management Agency. I promise to face any heavy weight individual or group who plans to misinterpret or confuse the populace about the root cause of my mother’s death. My mother died as a result of family complications and mismanagement.

According to reports, Mrs. Theresa, 76, was at her house in the Victoria Garden City, Lagos, when a fire outbreak occurred around 2am on Saturday morning.

Unfortunately, she was said to have been burnt to death before firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service were able to put out the fire which razed her residence.
