Fan berates 2baba for donating N10m to govt in battle against COVID-19 pandemic (Video)

A Nigerian man has criticised ‘African Queen’ crooner, 2face Idibia, for donating the sum of N10 million to the Federal Government of Nigeria in its ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Nigerian who stated that the singer’s action did not go down well with him in a video on social media, faulted 2baba for his COVID-19 donation to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

According to him, 2baba should have partnered with food agencies or banks in the country, if he really wanted the funds to be accessible by scores of vulnerable Nigerians who are in dire need.

“Other celebrities should not tow the line of 2baba; if they feel the need to aid the present situation, they should seek means of partnering with agencies that can effectively distribute funds to people who are really in need,” he said.

The comments on 2baba’s COVID-19 donation comes days after stand-up comedian Francis Agoda, popularly known as I Go Dye, offered to donate his mansion to the Federal Government of Nigeria for use as a COVID-19 isolation centre.

The humour merchant made the announcement last Wednesday as he decided to take action and join others in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

I Go Dye who stated that he was worried about the increasing cases of the virus and the few screening centres available, said that it was important to take proactive measures in tackling the pandemic which had ravaged some countries.
