What Fani-Kayode said to Buhari for appointing dead men into govt boards

Following the inclusion of the names of three dead men in the list of the recent appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari, the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that the state of “dementia” being suffered by the president “has gone viral”.

Fani-Kayode had recently alleged that President Buhari was suffering from dementia, but feels that the health issue may have worsened, after names of three dead men were among the list of the new appointments released by the Federal Government on Friday.

The list of the appointments released on Friday had President Buhari appointing 209 board chairmen and 1,258 members into some government agencies and parastatals.

While one of the 209 chairmen, Senator Francis Okpozo, is late, two of the 1,258 members appointed into the government owned agencies and parastatals were also said to be deceased.

Mr. Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), had while announcing the latest massive batch of appointees, hinted that more are on the way.

Reacting on his twitter handle after it emerged that dead men also made the list, Fani-Kayode said, “Buhari just appointed Donald Ugbaja as a member of the Consumer Protection Council. He also appointed Chris Utov as a member of the Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research. Sadly, like Senator Okpozo, who was appointed chairman of the Press Council, they are both dead.”

Referring to Buhari, he further said, “First you forgot your own age. Then you appoint an 81 year old who drawls, who can barely walk and who wears clothes from the 1940’s as our Ambassador to the U.S.A..

“And now, u appoint a dead man, Senator Francis Okposo, as chairman of the Press Council. Your dementia has gone viral.”

The latest appointments which had both the names of the dead and the living, was the largest President Buhari ever made since coming to power in 2015.
