Obasanjo’s greatest mistake was not jailing Buhari –Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has warned that nothing must happen to Benue State’s Governor Samuel Ortom, saying that he has the support of millions of Nigerians.

The former minister’s statement is coming on the heels of the governor’s claim that some people are planning to attack him and that he was ready to pay with his life for saying the truth and insisting on the state’s anti-open grazing law.

Fani-Kayode, who reacted through a series of tweets on his twitter handle said, “It is not a crime to pass an Anti-Grazing Law and neither does Ortom or the people of Benue deserve to be killed for it.

“HEAR THIS: If ANYTHING happens to Gov. Ortom of Benue state there will be a swift and strong retaliation and that will be the end of Nigeria.

“I repeat NOTHING must happen to Gov. Ortom. This matter has now gone beyond Benue. It is a collective struggle and a national issue. Ortom is NOT alone. Millions from all over the country are with him. If we are compelled to choose between war and servitude we SHALL choose war.”

The former Aviation Minister also reacted in another tweet to a claim that the Emir of Kano State, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, asked the Federal Government to call Benue and Taraba state governors to order for raising militias to stop the Fulani herdsmen.

Quoting the emir in his tweet he wrote, “Emir of Kano asks FG to call Benue & Taraba state governors to order for raising militias to stop the Fulani terrorists.”

He then said, “The Emir should take the Alaafin of Oyo’s advice, watch his words and not inflame matters. He should also tell us who beheaded Gideon Akaluka in the ’90’s.”

Sanusi is rumored to have led the group of mobs who beheaded Gideon Akaluka, an Igbo trader in 1995 in Kano State, for allegedly desecrating the Koran.
