FANI-KAYODE TO PDP LEADER JIBRIN: No southerner will be enslaved by RUGA

Fani-Kayode demands arrest, prosecution of Senator Abbo for assault on lady

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister has said that no southern region would ever accept, nor allow its people to be “enslaved by RUGA.”

RUGA, a federal government project that intends to create a settlement for herdsmen across the 36 states of the country, has since been suspended following its rejection by southern regions and some states in the middle belt.

However, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Senator Walid Jubril, had recently said he was in support of RUGA and called on those opposed to it to reconsider their position.

But responding in a statement on his verified Twitter account on Thursday, Fani-Kayode said the PDP BoT chairman should be told that RUGA would never be acceptable by the people of the southern Nigeria.

The former minister suggested that the RUGA programme was a Fulani agenda.

He frowned at the alleged statement by Miyetti Allah on an AIT programme where the herdsmen leader supposedly said, “There is going to be a scarcity of meat all over Nigeria as we are going to shut down the entire meat market because the Igbos and the entire South have not appreciated our efforts in making cow meat available.”

In his tweets, Fani-Kayode wrote: The fact that supposedly ‘moderate’ Fulanis who supported @atiku like Ango Abdullahi, Tanko Yakassai, Yahaya Kwande and Walid Jubril are all in support of RUGA, Miyetti Allah and Fulani herdsmen speaks volumes. Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are!

“We need a break! Keep your ACCURSED meat and CHOKE on it!

“The Chairman of the @OfficialPDPNig Board of Trustees, Sen. Walid Jubril, who is a Fulani man, has said that he backs RUGA and that the south should accept and implement it.

“Somebody please tell him that NO southerner worth his salt will EVER accept or be enslaved by RUGA.”
