Fasanmi is Tinubu’s stooge, says Okurounmu

Afenifere chieftain and former lawmaker, Senator Femi Okurounmu, has lambasted 93-year-old Senator Ayo Fasanmi, describing him as a stooge of the All Progressives Congress chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Okurounmu said this during a telephone chat with The Punch correspondent while responding to an interview Fasanmi granted Sunday Punch, wherein he (Fasanmi) attacked the leadership of Afenifere for supporting the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Fasanmi had accused Afenifere of supporting Atiku because of money.

In his response, however, Okurounmu said Fasanmi, who was a senator from 1979 to 1984, was originally a respected statesman but had since allowed himself to be compromised by Tinubu and other APC governors who had failed to replicate the legacy of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
