Fashola to represent Buhari in Uyo as Eagles face Zambia

Barr. Babatunde Raji Fashola will represent President Muhammadu Buhari at Saturday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Zambia in Uyo.

This is according to a media statement made available on Friday from the Media Department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Fashola, the immediate past governor of Lagos State and current Minister of Power, Works and Housing, will be joined by the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and Minister of Youth and Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung.

Other government dignitaries expected at the stands of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium are the Chairmen of the Senate and House Committees on Sports, Senator Obinna Ogba and Hon. Goni Bukar Lawan.

Host Governor, Udom Emmanuel and members of the Akwa Ibom State cabinet, NOC President Habu Gumel and Members of the NFF Executive Committee and Management will also be present.

The Super Eagles are a win away from next year’s World Cup, standing three points ahead of second–placed Zambia in CAF qualifying Group B.

If the Nigerian men win, they will join Germany, England, Brazil, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and hosts Russia as teams already guaranteed to be at the 32-team tournament.
