Gunmen abduct lawyer in Osun

The Police have confirmed the abduction of Wellington Magbisa, the father of the Caretaker Chairman of Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Magbisa was, on Sunday, abducted by yet to be identified gunmen numbering about seven from his home in Sagbama.

According to reports, the kidnappers gained access to their victim’s house through an unprotected window, seized him and took him away.
Spokesman of the Police Command in Bayelsa State, DSP Butswat Asinim, confirmed the kidnapping while addressing newsmen on Sunday in Yenagoa.

Asinim said: “Five men came in through an unprotected window, captured Mr Magbisa and escaped through the waterways,” he said.

He added that all the sister security agencies in the state had been alerted to rescue the victim and also arrest his captors.
