Those against my father’s gov ambition murdered him –Senator Adeleke’s son

While the people of Osun state, especially Osun-West are yet to come to terms with the sudden death of their senator, Isiaka Adeleke, one of his sons, Tunji has alleged that his father was murdered.

According to him, his father who was once governor of the state from 1992 to 1993, was killed because of his ambition to return as governor of the state.

Sen Adeleke died on Sunday at Bikets Hospital in Oshogbo, the Osun state capital. Initial reports claimed he died of cardiac arrest, but an autopsy carried out on him said he died of an overdose of painkiller intravenously administered to him.

The autopsy was carried out after his kinsmen from Eze said they suspected foul play in his death, and called for a probe to get to the bottom of it.

Tunji, who made his claim on Snapchat said that his father was preparing to contest in the 2018 governorship election in the state.

According to him, his father was killed by some forces because he stood a good chance of emerging the governor of the state again.

Although he would not mention names, the younger Adeleke said his late father’s chances of clinching the governor’s seat were very high, hence the need to eliminate him, as he was considered a threat.

He noted with curiosity how his father, who was hale and hearty on Saturday and was awake till around 2am on Sunday morning, could die a few hours later without showing any sign of sickness.

Tunji believed that his dad was killed by those who were jealous of his influence and money which he said they wanted by all means.
