Fayemi begins second stint as Ekiti governor

Dr. Kayode Fayemi today began his second stint as the governor of Ekiti State after his swearing-in on Tuesday.

Fayemi, a former minister of Solid Minerals, was the governor of the state between 2010 and 2014 before he was defeated by the immediate past governor, Peter Ayo Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fayemi however defeated Fayose’s deputy and candidate of the PDP, Prof. Olusola Eleka to return to the seat.

Fayemi, 53, hails from Isan Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of the state. He holds a PhD in war studies.
