Fayose regrets supporting Sheriff, makes vow

Fayose incurably rude, desperate to rubbish Aisha Buhari, presidency says
Governor Ayodele Fayose, has expressed disappointment for having ever supported Ali Modu Sheriff, to become the national chairman of the PDP.
The Ekiti state governor vowed never to openly support or campaign for a candidate again.
According to him, if Sheriff had been allowed to continue as PDP chairman, the seeming unsolvable crisis rocking the party would have been worse.
The governor stated this during the visit of the ex-chairman of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, to the state to campaign for his PDP national chairmanship aspiration.
“I must tell you that I have learnt my lessons from my past experience. I will not openly identify or campaign for a candidate any longer. As part of our great party in Ekiti, I‘m assuring you that I do not have a personal candidate and God knows I have not spoken to my people about any candidate.
“We will allow God to choose for us this time by ensuring that all aspirants have a level-playing ground.
“I have learnt my lessons on Ali Modu Sheriff and I take full responsibility for the consequences. Imagine, if we have allowed him to get there, with the way he is now behaving, it would have been worse than this.”
Arguably a onetime most populous political party in Africa, the PDP is facing a challenge that is threatening its continuous existence, as Sheriff, alleged of being used by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has continued to drag the party from one court to the other insisting he remains the authentic chairman of the party.
