Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has called on the newly inaugurated members of the state’s House of Assembly to learn from history, and not try to impeach him, as those who dared in the past have died politically.

Fayose, at the end of a victory procession on a bike (okada) round Ado-Ekiti, the state capital on Friday, declared a total conquest of his political enemies, referring to how he weathered the impeachment plot of the APC members of the previous House of Assembly.

The governor spoke during the inauguration of a new State House of Assembly entirely composed of his associates in the PDP

“Whoever thinks he would impeach his governor and the Deputy for him to become the Acting Governor always ends being destroyed. You have to learn from history. Those who impeached me the other time have died politically today”, he said.

The new speaker, Pastor Kola Oluwawole is a former Chief of Staff to Fayose during his first advent.

Fayose said he had forgiven the 19 former APC lawmakers who instigated the impeachment motion against him, even as he absolved President Muhammadu Buhari of complicity in the political battles that were recently waged against him.
