Fayose's wife received N100m from arms cash, EFCC alleges
There are indications that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, may soon invite the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, for receiving N100m through an account which is operated by her and her husband.
The EFCC, has alleged that the money emanated from the account of the Office of the National Security Adviser and was paid into the Zenith Bank account of Spotless Investment Limited on June 17, 2014, less than a week to the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State.
According to the anti-graft agency, the money was paid into the company’s account with bank teller number 0540997 by Abiodun Agbele, an associate of the governor.
The account, which has been frozen, has Fayose and his wife as joint signatories.
The immunity currently enjoyed by Fayose as a sitting governor, does not cover his wife or shields her from prosecution.
