FCT confirms 19 fresh cases of COVID-19, as toll of infections rises to 297

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has confirmed nineteen new cases of COVID-19 in the area bringing the total number of patients infected with the deadly virus thus far to 297.

This was confirmed on Tuesday morning in a post on the official Twitter account of the FCTA.

The tweet by the FCTA reads in detail; “Nineteen (19) New Cases in the FCT… Summary of COVID19FCT at 11:45pm, May 4th, 2020. Total number of confirmed cases: 297.

“Total number of active cases: 254.Total discharged: 40. Deaths recorded: 3.

“Residents are urged to continue to stay home and stay safe,” the tweet by the FCTA added.

This development came days after the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command, on Tuesday threatened to seal all motor parks in the nation’s capital.

The command made the threat through its Commissioner, Bala Ciroma, over the failure of the operators of the parks to obey the order.
