FCT orders closure of schools, shopping malls over COVID-19

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has ordered the closure of all schools in the nation’s capital as part of the proactive measures to check the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The FCT Minister, Mohammed Musa Bello, said the directive takes effect from Friday.

He also ordered the restriction of social and religious activities while shopping malls and other large business premises without sanitizers and other safety measures are to be shut down immediately.

Nigeria on Thursday confirmed four fresh cases of Coronavirus, bringing the number of people with the virus to 12.

The disease has killed about 9, 000 people in more than 60 countries across the globe.
