FCT residents shun pedestrian bridges, risk death
Some residents in the Federal Capital Territory have continued to shun the pedestrian bridges located in different parts of the FCT, choosing to risk their lives crossing the expressways.
Findings by The PUNCH indicated that the pedestrian bridges have largely been turned to mini-markets by traders selling shoes, bags, clothes, phone accessories and other knick-knacks.
The bridges, which are located along Kubwa-Zuba highway, Area one, Garki, Maitama and other expressways, are used by few pedestrians while many prefer dashing across.
Pedestrians told The PUNCH correspondent in a chat at Area One, Garki, on Thursday that the location of the bridge was not ideal, stressing that it was far from the bus stop.
