Fear of EFCC has boosted the war against Boko Haram -Magu

Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu believes that the fight against corruption, which has made possible, transparency in the use of resources by the military, is reason for the success against Boko Haram in the North East.

Magu, who has continued to perform in acting capacity as EFCC boss one year after he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, stated this when he visited the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai on Friday.

He regretted how corruption in the past led to the inability of the Nigerian Army to flush out the insurgents, but said he was now happy because all that are past as the tide has changed. He commended the COAS for his efforts in the transformation.

Magu said, “We know your hands are full, but you are doing very well. Two years before now, nobody was able to visit Maiduguri and other parts of the North East, but today, I can take a flight after close of work today and spend the weekend in Maiduguri.

“We commend you for your selflessness, your patriotism and your professionalism. The fight against corruption in the Nigerian Army as championed by your leadership is majorly responsible for the success achieved in the fight against Boko Haram. When Soldiers allowances are embezzled, then their morale will be dampened and that is a serious security threat”.

The EFCC Boss during the visit also informed Buratai of its new project ‘Women Against Corruption (WAC)’ and sought for the army’s continued support in the fight against economic and financial crimes as anti-graft agencies alone cannot fight the corruption war.

“I want to inform the military through your office, of the forth coming Women Against Corruption (WAC) project which will be flagged –off by the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari at the International Conference Centre on December 7, 2016 In his response, Gen. Buratai pledged support to the EFCC in achieving its mandate.

“We are proud of you; you have made Nigerians proud in the discharge of your duties. Nigerians have for a very long time, forgotten that basic responsibility of being accountable to yourself, family, place of work and the society at large. The unfortunate erosion of these attributes has affected the country as a whole.

“Corruption is a canker worm, a cancer that has eaten deep into the fabric of our society. I know that attempt to tackle it will be resisted, but no matter the resistance, I assure you that you will succeed”, Magu said

Magu is a desperado. He is seeking so much attention lately. His acting capacity at the anti-graft commission must be giving him sleepless nights cum wonderful ideas. He’s really working.

Hyprotical indeed. Magu is trying to investigate these military commanders but they don’t know.

Ibrahim Magu has been doing a great job, but I still can’t see any connection between war against Boko Haram being enhanced by his office.

Abi ooo. I am sure he was under the influence of alcohol for saying that rubbish. Boko haram might teach him senses if care is not taken.

Clueless and illiterate magu. What is the business of efcc with book haram?
Magu is a big fool. He should have ordered his boys to go arrest boko harams now.

I pity these military bosses, the next visit of magu to them will be to arrest them for corruption.
