FEC approves N2.49b for consultancy work for NDIC hqtrs

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday approved N5.72 billion for the construction of offices for the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

Out of the N5.72 billion approved by FEC, N2.49 billion was for consultancy for stage three work on the NDIC corporate offices in Abuja and Lagos, while N3.23 was earmarked for the construction of NDIC zonal office in Bauchi.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, while briefing State House correspondents at the end of FEC meeting.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, while briefing the media after the meeting, said that FEC approved N574 million for insurance cover for the College of Aviation in Zaria.

Speaking further, Sirika said that N271 million was also approved for perimeter fencing of Port Harcourt International Airport, which was abandoned since 2011.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed while briefing on behalf of the Minister of Transportation, revealed that FEC approved N718 million for the supply of land mobile security scanner for Lagos Port.
