Fed Character Commission to investigate SURE-P, YOUWIN

Ongoing probes by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government may not be limited to the current ones as the Federal Character Commission, FCC, is set to investigate past activities of the Structural Re-Investment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P and the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria, YOUWIN, Ripples has learnt.

Giving insight to this plan on Thursday was the Acting Executive Chairman of the Commission, Shettima Bukar Abba, on Thursday in Abuja.

According to him, apart from monitoring of recruitment in ministries, departments and agencies, the Commission will start full oversight of the SURE-P and YOUWIN that was initiated by the Jonathan administration.

He said: “The Commission wishes to continue with the SURE-P and YOUWIN program, all staff of the commission will be moved to the field for monitoring and evaluation of the programme.

“We are also looking at the second mandate of the commission, which is construction of facilities, provision of amenities. We will take a look at the five years that this projects have been on ground, take a look at the money invested previously and see what can come out of it for the unemployed youths in the country.”
