Federation Cup: Rivers Angels await opponents for final

Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt have qualified for the final of this year’s women Federation Cup competition, following a 1-0 defeat of Nasarawa Amazons in Wednesday’s first semi final at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Super Falcons’ defender Osinachi Ohale scored with a scorcher from 22 yards in the 32nd minute of the explosive encounter to take the NWFL top side into the final, scheduled for the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The Angels now await the winner of the second semi final, between last year’s losing finalists Bayelsa United and Delta Queens. Both teams clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Thursday.

The men’s semi final matches have been scheduled for 28th September and 9thOctober respectively. While NPFL side FC IfeanyiUbah will confront NNL team Crown FC of Ogbomosho in the first semi final at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on 28th September, two –time African champions Enyimba FC of Aba will take on Nasarawa United in an all-NPFL clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on 9th October.
