In from Ahmed Boulor… .
Residents of Grammar school located along Ojodu Berger in Lagos State were thrown into shock and palpable fear when the lifeless body of one of the late Afro-beat singer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s dancer, Dodo Mayana, as she was fondly called was found at the bus stop close to the secondary school days ago.
The death of the energetic dancer came as a shock to many especially as it is coming a few days to the commencement of ‘Felabration’, the yearly music fiesta in honour of late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
According to Femi Kuti who broke the news of the sad loss via his twitter page, the circumstances surrounding the death of the dancer was very suspicious as she was found dispossessed of her personal effects.
Femi also remarked that the late dancer was murdered and regretted that the police, as usual won’t be helpful in bringing her killers to justice.
“Heard Dodo who sells outside the Shrine was killed by a hit and run car on her way home by grammar School opposite Omole estate. I’m so sad. Sounds more like Dodo was mugged because when we got to her nothing was found on her, no money, no phone. It’s sad.
“Dodo was such a nice and friendly person RIP. May those who did this not go free. Unfortunately our police might never find them. She was mugged (they now say most likely she took one chance bus) killed and dumped by grammar school.” Femi wrote on his twitter time line.
