Asset sale: Govt yet to decide on what to do, Lai Mohammed says
After what appeared like foot dragging, the Federal Government, Friday, said it has launched a fresh move to get the abducted students of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, released.
The government also pointed accusing fingers at middle men, who it accused of exploiting its rescue effort for money.
The government disclosed this at a press briefing held by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Abuja.
According to Mohammed, previous efforts targeted at securing the release of the girls were frustrated by in-fighting among the Boko Haram insurgents and the activities of middle men who exploited the situation for monetary gains.
It would be recalled that the seeming lay back attitude of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in rescuing the girls, had pitied the Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG advocacy group against the federal government, leading to the constant refusal of the police to allow the group to protest to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
