There are indications that the Federal Government has concluded arrangements for formal dialogue in the Niger Delta with a Dialogue billed to hold on Monday, September 26 and 27, in Abuja.
According to sources, the proposed summit was being coordinated by the Office of the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo with Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters as facilitator.
However, the leader of the Pan-Niger Delta platform, Chief Edwin Clark who has been pushing militants, monarchs, leaders and stakeholders of Niger Delta coastal states, for such a dialogue, said he is not aware that any date has been fixed for the Niger Delta Summit.

He nevertheless said there are arrangements for monarchs, stakeholders and leaders of the region to meet with President Buhari.
Such a summit it is hoped will table and address the grievances of militants and other stakeholders in the region which has been recently witnessed renewed restiveness.
