World football governing body FIFA on Thursday announced the shortlists for the Adidas Golden Ball (8), Adidas Golden Glove (3) and Hyundai Young Player (3) awards without considering Nigeria golden girl, Asisat Oshoala and her Super Falcons teammates in the list.

Oshoala prior to the World Cup in Canada was voted BBC’ 2014 Women Player of the year, but her average performance at Women World Cup ruled her out of contention while the dismal performance of the Super Falcons who manage a 3-3 draw before losing 3-1 and 1-0 to Australia and USA did not help their rating.

The award lists was submitted by the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) and the candidates for the Adidas Golden Ball include: Saori ARIYOSHI (Japan), Lucy BRONZE (England), Amandine HENRY (France), Julie JOHNSTON (USA), Carli LLOYD (USA), Aya MIYAMA (Japan), Megan RAPINOE (USA), Celia SASIC (Germany).

The Adidas Golden Ball will be awarded to the best player of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 while the Adidas Silver and Bronze Ball Awards will be presented to the second and third-best players.

The trio of Nadine ANGERER (Germany), Ayumi KAIHORI (Japan) and Hope SOLO (USA) have been listed for the Adidas Golden Glove which will be presented to the tournament’s best goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai Young Player Award will be presented to the best young footballer born on or after 1 July 1995 and the candidates are Kadeisha BUCHANAN (Canada), Ada HEGERBERG (Norway) and Jiali TANG (China).

All award winners will be decided by the FIFA TSG.

The winners, including the Adidas Golden, Silver and Bronze Boots for the tournament’s top scorers and the FIFA Fair Play Award, will be announced after the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ Final on July 5.
