The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria are Tuesday set to battle Ecuador for a spot in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

Having won their opening game 4-2 against Hungary last Sunday, the Eaglets will advance to the next round with a win over Ecuador, who also won their opening game against Australia.

Nigeria, five-time champions of the competition, are currently top of Group B with a superior goal difference.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Golden Eaglets midfielder Hamzat Ojediran confirmed the team’s readiness to clinch another win at the youth tournament.

“Hungary win is gone, what we are doing right now in the camp is training and working hard to get another win against the Ecuadorians,” he said.

The Tuesday clash will kick off at 9:00pm Nigeria time.
