Finally, Buhari lands Nigeria (Updated)
President Muhammadu Buhari is back in the country after 50 days of rest in the United Kingdom.
He landed the Kaduna Airport at about 7:40am, and was then taken by chopper to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The helicopter which conveyed Mr President from Kaduna landed at the helipad inside the Presidential Villa at 8.42am.
The President was received by his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello; Zamfara State governor, Abdulaziz Yari; Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura; Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali; National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and all service chiefs.
After landing, the President and the government officials were driven straight from the helipad to the First Lady’s Conference building where he had a meeting with top government officials led by Osinbajo.

The meeting was not open to the press, as security operatives locked out many journalists and some top government officials.
President Buhari, who was received by his Vice, Osinbajo and many other top government officials was quoted to have said he was pleased to be back in Nigeria.
At the meeting, he promised to re-dedicate himself to the service of the nation.
The President after the meeting retired into his official residence inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He is expected to address the nation later in the day.
