Five killed, dozens trapped as building collapses in India

Three trapped children and two adults were on Friday rescued from a collapsed building by the men of the Kano State Fire Service at Dandago Babban Baki in Gwale Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesman of the service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed who said this in an interview with news men said that the house was an upstairs building.

He added that the service received a distress call on Friday from one Malam Hamza Idris at about 3:19 p.m. that a building has collapsed. Among those rescued was a three-year-old boy.

He said that the victims who sustained injuries were taken to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, for treatment.

According to him, the cause of the incident was still under investigation.
