Flamingos to face USA in U-17 W’Cup quarterfinals after 100% group stage run
Nigeria women’s U-17 football team, the Flamingos will take on USA in the quarter-final of the FIFA women’s u-17 World Cup holding in Dominican Republic.
The Flamingos started their campaign on a bright note, defeating New Zealand 4-1 before seeing off Ecuador with a 4-0 thrashing in their second group A game.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Bankole Olowookere girl took on the hosts, Dominican Republic, and clinched a 1-0 victory to complete their group phase on a perfect note.

Shakirat Moshood scored a 24-yard goal in the 89th minute to give Nigeria all three points against a determined Dominican Republic team.
The victory puts Flamingos three points ahead of Ecuador, who defeated New Zealand 4-0 to end with six points and set up a match against Spain on Sunday.
According to the X handle of the FIFA U-17 WWC, the Nigerian game is the highest-attended football match for any Dominican Republic National Team, which saw a record of 13,535 spectators.
Now, the Nigerian girls will turn their attention to the quarter-final clash against USA on Saturday.
