Flying Eagles qualify for Youth AFCON with 6-1 thrashing of Mauritania

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have sealed their place in the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Niger.

Having played a 1-1 draw against Mauritania in Nouakchot last week, the Eagles soared 5-0 in the second leg final round clash at the Agege Stadium on Saturday.

Three goals by Nazifi Yahaya and a goal each by Wasiu Alalade and Aremu Afeez sealed the win.

Seven-time champions Nigeria are being coached by Paul Aigbogun, and they dominated both halves.

The 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will be the 15th edition of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations – a biennial international youth football tournament organized by Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The competition will be played between 24 February and 10 March 2019 in Niger Republic.
