Flying Eagles to face USA, Ukraine, Qatar at 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group D of the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, alongside USA, Ukraine and Qatar.

The draw for the competition took place at the Gdynia Sports Arena in Gdynia, Poland on Sunday.

The 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup will kick off from May 23 to June 15.

In the history of the competition, Nigeria have finished as runners–up twice and have won the third place match once.

At the 1989 edition, Nigeria lost to Portugal in the final in Saudi Arabia; and also came second in 2005, losing to Argentina in The Netherlands.

The Eagles had won the bronze medals in the old Soviet Union in 1985 when they defeated the host nation on penalties in the third place playoff.

Male, Senegal and South Africa are the other African teams representing the continent at the tournament.

GROUP B: Mexico, Italy, Japan, Ecuador

GROUP C: Honduras, New Zealand, Uruguay, Norway

GROUP D: Qatar, Nigeria, Ukraine, USA

GROUP E: Panama, Mali , France, Saudi Arabia

GROUP F: Portugal, Korea Republic, Argentina, South Africa.
