Following defeat in Sudan, Enyimba crash out of CAF Champions League

Enyimba football club of Aba were eliminated from the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Al Hilal of Sudan on Sunday night.

The match, the second leg of their first round encounter in Omdurman, handed the Sudanese a 1-0 aggregate victory over Enyimba, who were forced to a goalless draw at home in the first leg.

The hosts scored the winning goal in the second half after either team failed to register a goal before the break.

The Enyimba will now drop down to the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs following the loss.

Enugu Rangers are other Nigerian team in the Confederation Cup.

The Flying Antelopes defeated AS Pelican of Gabon 4-3 on aggregate to seal their passage into the playoffs.
