Opposition parties call for Friday nationwide protest against Onnoghen's CCT arraignment

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has for the third time failed to hear the appeal filed before it by the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The Court granted the prayer of the respondent to avail him time to familiarise with the suits filed in the appeal.

Aliyu Umar takes over from Oyin koleoso who is appearing for the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).

The court had earlier in January scheduled hearing of Onnoghen’s appeal for February 12 but could not form a quorum on  the grounds that two of the three justices were away for seminars.

This forced the court to adjourn till the next day but the matter suffered another setback after the federal government requested to engage a new lawyer.
