FORBES: China’s President Xi displaces Russia’s Putin as world’s most powerful man

A list of the world’s most powerful people has been released by Forbes with unassuming Chinese leader Xi Jinping rated as the most powerful man on planet earth for the first time.

The Chinese leader dethrones Russian President Vladimir Putin who has been named by Forbes as the most powerful person in the world for four consecutive years, to second spot.

Forbes said the Chinese leader “enjoys a cult of personality” not seen since Chairman Mao Zedong, China’s founding father, next is Putin and in third place is US President Donald Trump while Germany’s leader Angela Merkel ranks fourth.

The rest of the list is composed of both politicians and business leaders including India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was also ranked among the top 10 most powerful people in the world
