Forbes lists Davido, Wizkid, Falz as Africa's U-30 industry wave makers

The trio of popular Nigerian singers Davido, Wizkid, Falz have been listed in the 2018 Forbes Africa under 30 individuals that are making waves in their respective industries across the continent.

Divided into three categories; Creative, Technology and Business, the Forbes Africa under 30 list also includes other established African stars like Sarkodie, Nasty C, Cassper Nyovest, Falz, Yemi Alade, Beverly Naya and Sonia Irabor.

Also included in the list, are fashion entrepreneurs Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture and Tania Omotayo of Ziva Lagos; beauty entrepreneurs Anita Adetola Adetoye of Anita Brows, Joyce Jacob and actress Beverly Naya.

The list of the 2018 Forbes Africa under 30 individuals comes a year after Forbes named the trio of Nigerian musicians Don Jazzy, Wizkid and Davido in its list of top 10 richest African musicians living in the continent.

Forbes Africa according to reports, arrived at the list of 10 richest African musicians using factors such as endorsement value, popularity, show rates, sales, awards, YouTube views, appearance in newspapers, investment, social media presence and influence among others.

Ranked at number (10) is Zimbabwe’s Oliver Tuku Mtukudzi who has 65 albums to his credit; at number (9) is Ghanaian rapper Sarkordie (the first Ghanaian to win a BET award); ranked number (8) is Nigeria’s ‘Aiye’ crooner Davido who became popular with the release of his 2012 album Omo Baba Olowo (OBO); and sitting pretty at the number (7) spot is Wizkid whose song titled ‘Ojuelegba’ has earned him global recognition.

Another Nigerian based in America, Jidenna Theodore Mobisson is ranked number (6) on the Forbes list followed by Zimbabwe-American, Tinashe at number (5) who became a child model at age 3.

At number (4) is no other than Supreme Mavin Dynasty (SMD) boss Don Jazzy, (the highest ranked Nigerian on the list) and at number (3) is veteran South African jazz musician Hugh Masekela who has 43 albums to his credit.

The top two most richest African musicians according to the list by Forbes Africa are multiple-award winning South African artist Black Cofee at number (2) and Senegal’s golden voice Akon at number (1).
