Shekarau shoots down defection reports, says ‘I still consulting’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost another major player in the party, former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau.

Shekarau’s defection was disclosed by his media aide, Sule Ya’u Sule on Tuesday in Kano.

Ya’u Sule hinged the defection on the alleged ill treatment meted to Shekarau and his supporters by the PDP in the State.

According to him, the stakeholders meeting will hold today.
“The former governor has left PDP and has called for a stakeholders meeting today (Tuesday) from where he will decide where to go.
“You know he will not take decision without meeting the stakeholders which has always been his habit,” Ya’u Sule said.

Sule further disclosed that the former governor met with Governor Ganduje in Abuja last night to finalize his defection.

It would be recalled that Shekarau had complained about the large number of presidential aspirants in PDP.
It was later disclosed that he is returning to the All Progressives Congress (APC),
