A former member of the House of representatives, has Uche Onyeaguocha appeared before Chief Magistrate R.O. Nworka, in Owerri, Imo State for offences bordering on electoral violence.

Onyeaguocha who was arrested by men of the Imo State Police Command during the collation of the result for the Imo State governorship election on Sunday, was arraigned alongside Paschal Onwukaike, Steve Asimobi and Oliver Enwerenem on 10 counts.

The police prosecutor said the suspects had engaged in fighting at the INEC collation centre after Onyeaguocha, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state agent, protested against the result of the Ideato South Local Government Area.

Court papers also revealed that the charges bothered on destruction of election materials, disrupting of election process and destruction of INEC result sheet.

Before adjourning the case till May 6 for further hearing, Chief Magistrate R.O. Nworka granted the quartet bail on self-recognition, after a bail application was considered by the court.
