Wamakko shares his thoughts on Gov Tambuwal’s defection

A former governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamakko has been declared winner of Sokoto North Senatorial District in last Saturday’s National Assembly elections.

Wamakko defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ), Ahmed Maccido with a total vote of 172,980 against Maccido’s 138,922.

Announcing the results on Monday, the Returning Officer, Prof. Atiku Yahaya, added that Wamakko won in four of the six local government areas in the district.

Similarly, Hassan Abubakar retained his seat as the member of the House of Representatives representing Sokoto North/Sokoto South Federal Constituency.

The APC candidate polled a total vote of 71,486 votes against PDP’s Abubakar Abdullahi who got 52,148 votes.
