The police in Lagos on Wednesday arraigned four men at the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for the alleged theft of some aluminum roofing sheets worth N2 million.

The defendants – Taiwo Hassan (42), Taye Aduloju (24), Jabiru Idris (35), and Sanni Adamu (25) – were arraigned on a three-count charge of stealing and receiving stolen goods.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on September 3 at Check Point Bus Stop along the Badagry expressway in Lagos.

Adeosun said Hassan and Aduloju stole the aluminum roofing sheets belonging to one Okanlawon Bolaji.

He added that Idris and Adamu bought the roofing sheets knowing that they were stolen.

Adekomaiya said one of the sureties must be a grade level 12 civil servant in Lagos.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case till October 29 for mention.
