At least four Pakistani policemen were killed and several wounded after a deadly bomb, struck two police vehicles parked in the Satellite Town area of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.

According to Aljazeera, it will be the third attack in the region in three days,

Speaking with reporters, the city police chief Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that policemen were main targets of the attack.

He added that police vehicles exploded outside the al-Huda mosque where people were performing evening prayers before the explosion took place.

It is recalled that at least three gunmen stormed a five-star hotel in the southern Balochistan port city of Gwadar, killing at least five people and engaging in a gun battle with the military that lasted several hours.

Also on Saturday, a planted explosive device wounded two paramilitary soldiers in the province’s Pishin district, about 70km north of Quetta.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack in Pishin as well as the explosion in Quetta.

The group is said to have been fighting since 2007 to impose a strict interpretation of Islamic law in the country.
