FRANCE: Monaco are champions again after 17 years
Ligue 1 giants Monaco won the top-flight title after securing a deserved 2-0 victory against Saint-Etienne at the Stade Louis II on Wednesday night.
It was Monaco’s 11th straight victory, and it bumped them up to 92 points, six ahead of second-placed Paris Saint-Germain. They can also match PSG’s single-season record of 30 wins in Saturday’s final game at Rennes.
After thrashing Lille 4-0 last Sunday, Monaco needed just a point to be crowned champions for the eighth time due to their vastly superior goal difference over PSG.

Only 19 minutes into the game, in-form Kylian Mbappe scored the opener in style to put the home side ahead. The 18-year old latched on to Radamel Falcao’s through ball, skipped around the goalkeeper and slotted in.
The second goal came after stoppage time when forward Valere Germain tapped-in from close range.
The 8-time champions, who last won the league in 2000, are crowned champions again!
