Again, Eeedris takes on Obasanjo

Former Remedies band member, Eedris Abdulkareem, has kicked against the arrest of former presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, by DSS operatives. He described it as ‘cowardly and defeatist.’

According to the rapper, the arrest of Sowore over his planned protest scheduled for Monday, August 5th is uncalled for.

In a post on social media on Saturday, Eedris said, ‘the news of the ignoble arrest of the Revolution Now project convener Mr Femi Sowore is to say the least very regrettable and equally ludicrous’.

“Arresting Mr. Sowore and trying to intimade the citizenry is outrightly cowardly and defeatist. Nigerians are truly tired of the staus quo and desire, or rather demand a true change. And no amount of intimidation or harassment is ever going to change this.

“#Revolutionnow is for every Nigerian, irrespective of class, creed or tongue…Indeed and truly, the future of our land is in our hands.

“It is therefore very imperative to mention at this juncture that tbe arrest of Femi Sowore rather than throwing us in disarray as they envisaged, have rather succeeded in energizing and propelling our collective zeal the more,” he added.

According to reports, Sowore, was picked up by the DSS at his apartment at about 1am on Saturday morning and he managed to post a distress tweet at exactly 1:25 am.

His distress post on Twitter read, “DSS invades Sowore’s”.

An eyewitness identified as a ‘Lagos SUG leader’ also confirmed that the mobile phones of Sowore was confiscated after his arrest.
