Fresh attack in Plateau leaves over 20 people dead despite curfew

A fresh early morning attack on Nkyie Dongwro village in Miango district of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, has left no less than 20 people dead.

Earlier on Saturday night, armed persons had also attacked Taegbe, a village in Bassa, killing at least six people and injuring five others.

The attacks are coming despite a dusk to dawn curfew announced by the state’s Governor Simon Lalong, on the affected local government.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Terna Tyopev, the Saturday attackers, had invaded the village at 12 midnight and aside killings and injuring many, burnt down several houses.
