Fresh attacks in Borno leaves 4 female suicide bombers, 2 others dead

At least six persons have been killed, including four female suicide bombers in an early Wednesday suicide attack on Maiduguri, Borno State.

The unfortunate event was disclosed in a statement released by the information officer in charge of the National Emergency Management Agency ’s Northeast zonal office , Mallam Abdulkareem Ibrahim.

The attacks which according to Ibrahim happened around 1:15 am, were carried out by four teenage girls who had explosive devices strapped on them.

“Four female teenage suicide bombers and two other men died when the four females detonated explosives at Usmanti along Mina Garage road at about 1:15 am.

“Sixteen people who got injured were administered with first aid by rescue workers before being transported to the state Specialist Hospital and University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri Borno State,” the statement read.

It was learnt that the suicide bombers had knocked on the doors of the male victims, detonating the explosive devices as soon as they opened their doors for them.
