Funke Akindele's husband JJC Skillz in police net, to be arraigned for violating COVID-19 directives

Funke Akindele’s husband, JJC Skillz has reportedly turned himself in to the police after going AWOL when men of the Lagos State Police Command stormed their Amen Estate mansion, located in Ibeju-Lekki area of the state to arrest the couple for breaching the restriction order put in place by the state government to check the spread of COVID-19.

Sources in the know reveal that JJC Skillz has turned himself in to the police after an order demanding that he made himself available and he was with his wife who spent the night at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID office in Panti, Lagos.

Reports say Funke Akindele and her hubby would be arraigned in court today following a violation of the restriction orders in the state as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Having complied with the order on Monday, the police according to reports will proceed to charge JJC Skillz and his wife Funke Akindele at the Magistrate Court 1 in Ogba for violating the lockdown order.

The Lagos Infection Diseases Regulations 2020 prescribes a jail term of one month or N100,000 fine or both for anyone found guilty of hosting gatherings or flouting the lockdown order.

The regulation act in part reads thus; “Where there is a violation of a close-down or stay-at-home order, security agencies shall have the power to arrest without warrant and may detain any person, who violates the close-down or stay-at-home order, for at least 48 hours.

“Where the arrested person is found guilty, the person is liable to a fine of N100, 000 or one month imprisonment or three months’ community service.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Bala Elkana, had confirmed the Nollywood star’s arrest on Sunday, noting that it was predicated on a viral video showing a large number of persons celebrating a birthday party organised by Funke Akindele and her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello – popularly known as JJC Skillz, in an estate along Ajah in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.
