Fury backs McGregor to 'knockout' Mayweather in 35 seconds

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has backed Conor McGregor to end Floyd Mayweather inside 35 seconds in their highly anticipated super-fight.

McGregor, who will be making his professional debut, will take on undefeated Mayweather on August 26 in Las Vegas in what is set to be one of the biggest boxing fights ever.

Despite McGregor’s zero experience in boxing, Fury boldly predicted that the Irishman will knock Mayweather out inside the first round the same way he did to Jose Aldo in their featherweight title fight.

“I think McGregor will do him in one round,” Fury told iFL TV.

“I think he will knock him out inside the first 35 seconds like he did to Jose Aldo, to be honest.

“It would be good for boxing if McGregor chinned him.

“It would be great for the real people of the world.”

Mayweather, who is considered one of the best boxers ever and the greatest defensive fighter to step into the ring, has not fought since 2015 but with a current record of 49-0 .

The 40-year-old will come out of the retirement spell to fight McGregor and could take his unbeaten record to 50-0 by beating the UFC star.
