Fury can't wait to fight 'weightlifter' Joshua

Former unified heavyweight king, Tyson Fury, has told ‘weightlifter’ Anthony Joshua that he is ready to fight him as soon as he gets back in fighting shape.

The 28-year old, who has not competed in the ring since November 2015, insisted that he does not need a warm-up fight before facing Joshua, who added the WBA ‘super’ and IBO titles to his IBF strap on Saturday when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley.

Fury says he is ready to fight Joshua immediately, as he sees the possibility of defeating the boxing rave of the moment even with “one arm tied at the back.”.

“I don’t even need a warm-up if he wants this,” Fury told Sky Sports on Monday.

“There’s only one fight out there, the biggest fight in the world and everyone knows that. It is the heavyweights, it is me and AJ, no one else.

“It is the only one the world wants to see and I am here, I am the lineal champion, I am still number one in the world and everybody knows that.

“Styles do make fights but I am sure I can beat AJ with one arm tied behind my back.

Fury dramatically beat Klitschko on points in a world title fight in November 2015 and once held both the IBF and WBA belts now held by Joshua.

It is almost 18 months since he last fought competitively and is currently training in Spain to get the extra weight off.

“I have been out of the ring as long as Klitschko but the difference is, I am not 41, I am 28,” he said.

“AJ did really well to come back but I am not 41 or getting old. He is just a pumped-up weightlifter but [Klitschko] couldn’t land one of those hooks on me, at all.

“It is a total clash of styles, a total clash of personalities, the complete opposites.”
